Aristocratic Art

Zawoja, near Babia Góra,
7 June 1992

On a slope, against the background of Babia Góra, Warpechowski put a table covered with a tablecloth. There was tableware on it, including cups, glasses, teaspoons, a bottle of liqueur, and a flask with coffee and biscuits. However, everything was designed to make an impression of incompleteness and incongruity. The artist wore a dinner jacket, but had neither shoes nor a bow tie. The action, intended as an “incomplete party”, expressed Warpechowski’s opposition to the current “incomplete” condition of art, being a culture of “plastic cups and paper plates”
