Theatre Hyperétude

Teatr Pstrąg [Trout Theatre], Łódź,
14-16 December 1972

“Hyperétude” constituted three-day theatre workshops led by Warpechowski for a dozen or so people.
The participants practised improvised dance and pantomime on the first day. The second day was devoted to reading and studying the theatre manifestos of Witkacy, Artaud and Kantor, as well as participants preparing and delivering their own monologues. The cooking and eating of common meals also had the character of a performative ceremony, just as participants’ sleep, observed by the performer, did. The last day of the workshop was held with the audience.
